Sunny Happiness

Call me weird but I actually root for him to get back with his "evil" ex wife. Sure, she shouldn't have suggested they abort their child but on the other hand, he signed the abortion papers (apparently you have to do that in Taiwan/China) and left town. And the fact that she didn't get an abortion shows that she was clearly willing to change her mind about it.

Plus I don't like the annoying, meddling female lead. The second female lead will probably become truly evil in the future but for now, I wish they would just clear their misunderstandings and become a family again.

Having said that, I'm going to go back to watching Happy and Love Forever and maybe I'll finally get through the first episode and hopefully the second. lol. The main leads from that drama appeared in HLF....

Why are these Cinderellas so damn self-righteous?

So I've started watching Sunny Happiness since I don't mind twdramas and dangermousie on livejournal was raving about it.

Just like Korean dramas, Taiwanese dramas are notorious for Cinderella plots and while they've gotten old to me, I can still watch them.

But the thing I dislike most about these damn Cinderellas is that while poor, they are supposedly pure hearted and hardworking but instead come off as self righteous know-it-alls who feel morally superior. ARGH!

The second lead female is baaaaaad (she hid the lead's kid from him) but if this annoying female lead keeps it up, I'm going to root against her.

So through drama circumstances, she finds out that her boss (she's a cleaner at his hotel) has a child. She finds out because she ends up being the kid's nanny. Yes, the plot is ridiculous but at least is slightly less ridiculous than it sounds. Anyway, she finds out he has a kid and instead of minding her own damn business, even though she doesn't know the full story, she barges into the her boss's office and admonishes him for abandoning his child. WTF and who does she think she is? UGH.

And if the maid stuff wasn't Cinderella enough, she comes with two step sisters and a step mom. lol. Even the characters had to mention that she was a Cinderella.

Anyway, I'm going to keep watching and hope for the best. UGH! Rant over.

Miss Korea 2000 contestants and future actresses

From top to bottom: Kim Sarang (Secret Garden), Son Tae Young (Kwon Sang Woo's wife/ One Million Roses - my first kdrama), Park Si Yeon, ???? and Lee Bo Young (Harvest Villa).

I wonder if there's a more active pagent class in the entertainment industry.

Now I understand why Bollywood insists on singing in their movies...

... cos Hindi is meant to be sung.

I was listening to this song and discovered the Hindi Version... which is really like 30% Hindi, 70% English, I'm not even sure if that's Jay Sean's voice or they used autotune. Regardless, I like.

Have Kdramas killed my love for American romances?

I'm wondering this because a few weeks back, I watched this highly rated TV movie called The Lost Valentine. People keep going on and on about how it was so touching, they cried their eyes out etc etc and maybe the hype killed it for me because when I saw it, I felt it was just okay.

Maybe I'm used to the swell of emotions that can come from a really good kdrama that when I watch the relatively bland and angst-less American movies, I can't connect to them anymore? It's a better done version of Letters to Juliet with some girl helping an old lady find her lost love while falling in love with her grandson. It was more realistic and less annoying but I didn't connect with the old lady's story and connected even less with the grandson's story (almost no angst. Come on, now!). Plus the old lady's story was way over the top with the schmaltz.

Having said that, I actually enjoyed the Ashton Kutcher-Natalie Portman movie, No Strings Attached, more. Maybe because I had no expectations going in and it was exactly was it said it would be - a simple, predictable rom com.

My Weekend Was Spent...

... living in delusion. Someone should please save me! :(

In other news... there really is no other news. I'm just 100% delusional right now.  Someone needs to slap me out of it... then throw coffee on my face?

I keep singing the chorus of this song replacing "confusion" with "delusion"

ETA:
Now, this is my new delusional song (replace emotional with delusional).

Finally watching this week's My Princess Episodes...

... and the scene where she falls asleep on him reminds me of this scene at 3:25 in Boomerang. Lol, but this is a kdrama so I can't even imagine that in my wildest dreams. lol. But two hot people alone in a cottage... two people who actually LIKE/LOVE each other and nothing happens?

The Dream High soompi thread cracks me up like crazy.

Even though I'm behind on the episodes and probably won't complete them till the finale has aired, I read the thread because it's so entertaining. I wonder if this is how the Coffee House thread was.

You have so much fanfic going on there, people seeing things that don't exist, character super worship, shipper fights and just like everyone went to Nirvana in Coffee House when they thought their ship might be sinking, they are doing the same thing there. LOL. Now I wish I watched Coffee House as a non-shipper because it must have been so much fun.

It does crack me up how some people are so blinded by their idol-worship that they excuse a 'bad' character's crimes and some just go on and on about an actor like he's the second coming of Denzel Washington in Glory.

Personally, I find the show entertaining but not something to write a 3000-page essay about.

A Little Teaser for the Coffee House BTS series

Screen cap. I hope the BTS of the phone booth doesn't take too much magic out of it. LOL

Nikita

I'm still watching although I let the episodes pile up then watch like 2-4 in a row. Not a bad show and I guess what makes it even more interesting is that she's not like Super Nikita and her enemies are not Dumb Division so she does get caught, things don't go according to plan and I guess that makes it more suspenseful and realistic. I still don't like Michael and Nikita as a couple in this version and hope they stay apart for the rest of the series :D They have started to give us more little hints of Nikita possibly still having some feelings for him but please don't go there, show!

Then they killed off a regular cast member and have added this naive type who will be Nikita's ally. But why have her kiss him? Confused the poor sod.

I'm still watching Cougar Town and Outsourced when I remember but now I'm about to try a new show called "Fairly Legal." We'll see how that goes.
