Sign & And My Princess

My Princess is adorable so far. It's full of kdrama cliches... but the ones that made me fall in love with them in the first place. Plus the male lead is actually NICE. I think Joo Won kinda pushed me over the edge when it came to those over the top mean guys so let's just say I've had enough.

The most perfect guy ever was Jang Dong Gun in All About Eve (such a patient, loving guy) and I don't know if this guy can top him but so far so good. lol. Well, I need to finish episode 1 subbed but it seems nice and sweet so far. As for the acting, it was good enough for me. Let's just hope I don't change my mind about this series like by episode 5 but I must admit that I've not rooted for a couple from episode 1 since Eun Young and Jin Soo of Coffee House.

As for Sign, I'm yet to see it but will watch it over the weekend. I generally prefer jdrama medical/mystery shows like Voice and Galileo but I will give this a shot. I hope it's good.

Awww, MP has a nice kdrama hero....Well, SG put a bad taste in my mouth for kdrama rom-coms I have to admit. It did not take long either because I have not seen that many, but I guess my tolerance level was tapped out.

I read so many remarks dating back to CH about the heroes in kdramas that I fully expected all male leads to be an ass.

I do not like the kdrama premise to "love". It feels like a hostage situation....

Enjoy MP....I am enjoying the craziness that is Once Upon a Time in Saengchori (straight up insanity), Yacha (bloody sageuk) and Sign (intense---I'll be glad to know what the hell it is they are saying). :)

Yes, SG went overboard with the male lead and the so-called love story but it's different with My Princess. I've only seen very little so I can't say much but he's a nice guy, there's no screaming and they seem to have a pleasant relationship with no stalking. lol... well it helps that he's got someone else on his mind but so far so good.

All About Eve is not a rom com but that guy was the most perfect man ever and the lead didn't deserve him at all. But it also has all the backbiting and psycho second lead female cliches.

I'm trying to think of rom coms with nice male leads but it's hard. Most of them are jerks or arrogant SOBs at some point. It's the second lead males that are usually sweet to the lead female from the beginning. They are just going a little too far with these male leads these days.

lol, I'm sure the subs for Sign will be out by the weekend (I hope) :D so just wait with me. Good luck with your sageuks but I somehow can't get into them. Have you seen the King and the Clown (movie)?

I just looked up Once Upon A Time... where are you watching it?

I am watching OUaTiSC on Viki but they are not really subbing every line because some serious clues are being left out about the strange goings on.

Well, sageuks were my introduction into kdramas. I like ancient stories....a leftover from fairytales so I get it honestly.

As for MP, I saw only one drama with the male lead (there is sth about him that leads me to believe that he is truly a nice guy) and hope this drama turns out well for him. Perhaps he should try being a villian. I get why the female lead is coming out and talking about her own lack of acting abilities...you know like before the fans do so this diffuses things somewhat....

Hey, clock, will you be covering this on Couch Kimchi ;)

With all the positive reviews--yours, OcKoala's, and Dramabeans--I'm really looking forward to watching My Princess. And I trust your opinion.

I hope so too!! It's all nice and fluffy in ep1 and the preview for ep 2 looks good too. I have rooted many after CH but so far none have made me lose sleep like what JS-EY did ^^

Hiya axe, I root for Seul and Oska in SG but I didn't root for them from the very beginning. And yeah, so not losing sleep over them unlike our JS/EY. LOL :D Memories.

Angie, yeah, I'll do something for our site. Probably have it up tonight or tomorrow. I enjoyed episode 2 as well. I like that the characters aren't being antagonistic to each other... but who knows what the future will bring?

msk, which drama have you seen of his? Autumn's Tale (where he fell for his sister)? He does give off a good guy vibe....

Hi Axe.

Clock I saw and did not finish Summer Scent. This was his drama right? It was airing last year with subs on KBS so I just tuned in until I got bored with the whole moodiness of the drama. It was bringing me down particularly since I consider myself a happy person.

My kdrama entry with was with historical dramas....I have not watched any historical kmovies. Generally, I like and watch Chinese and Japanese historical movies.

Oh, Summer Scent. I saw Autumn In My Heart which is part of the Season dramas along with Summer Scent and he starred in that one as well. Someone cried in every single episode.

In terms of Korean Historical Movies, you can try the King and The Clown. I really liked it.

No, I have not seen the King and the Clown because it reminded me of another movie along similar lines [where a brother and sister were orphaned and the little boy more or less was dressed up like a little girl and prostituted himself to save them both. His older sister sought revenge on the ppl who killed their parents by having them pose as prostitutes, and runs into a blind samurai (?) who helps them along with some other character....]I do not recall the name of the movie, but I think it was a Jmovie.

The actor in King Geunchogo is in KatC. I really like the first 4 epis in this one....It is a shame the subbing is taking so long, but I suppose the dialect is often hared to translate.
